Project Three
This project was a little bit of a challenge for me! I’m not exactly sure why, but it was taking me awhile to get the right sounds that I wanted for this sequence. I started by adding basic “shing” sounds for the weapon throws at the beginning, as well as two small knife sounds for the ending. I layered a couple of weapon swing sounds on top of those knife “shings” as well! I found some decent clothing swing sounds to use for the cape swings. I added a little bit of distortion to push that sound a little bit more into the mix. Just to give it a little more umph! I added some very light footsteps for the ending of this sequence as well and a punch for that punching part! I layered the punch with a swoosh that had a bit of an impact effect right in the middle of the sample, so I synced that with the punch. It adds a nice lead into the punch and taper off after it. I utilized a sub impact sound to emphasize that slow motion sequence and a couple lower whoosh sounds to lead in and out of both the main knife throw and the punch. I felt there was something missing when I didn’t add those lower whoosh sounds. It felt a bit empty. I think those whoosh sounds add so much more dynamic movement to the sequence overall. I think it turned out great! I eq’d everything that I used, ran everything into a slight room reverb, and added some light compression for final glue and cohesiveness!
